What is the "Festival in the Souk"? Souk is the term for a market or commercial area in an Arabic town. In Egypt, moulids, or festivals (generally based on religious holidays) are celebrated by the entire town. The markets are hung with colorful banners and lights, and people of the community come together with music, food, and lively celebration. It is in this spirit that Al-Bahira presents our own "Festival In the Souk" events --a celebration of our community right here in Minnesota. We hope you'll join us!
