On Sunday June 8, the Aalim School of Dance and Al-Bahira Dance Theater hosted a summer show and hafla featuring performances by 8 student groups, avocational dancers, professional soloists, and the Al-Bahira performance troupe. It was a great night of shining performances, sparkling smiles, delicious food, friends, fun, and socializing! We hope you'll enjoy just a few of the many photos from the evening below!

These kinds of haflas and performances are a quarterly occurance with the Aalim School and Al-Bahira. They're part of our ongoing commitment to provide performance opportunities for student and avocational performers, and to reach out to others in the community to provide an open, inviting place for all to enjoy.

You don't have to be an Aalim School student or Al-Bahira performer to participate--all are warmly welcomed as performers or audience members! And performances are not limited to belly dancers--other types of dance or other forms of Middle Eastern art (such as poetry recital or music) are welcome too!
