Aalim School of Dance and the Al-Bahira dancers present Summer Stars Spectacular

Join us for an evening of warm friends and beautiful performances from bright new dancers and dazzling professionals to celebrate the end of spring and the start of the summer season season! It'll be an evening of dance, music, food and fun, fun, fun featuring:
Doors open at 6:30, show begins at 7 p.m. Admission: $5
Location: Fred Astaire Dance Studios, 5300 S. Robert Trail Ste. 550 Inver Grove Heights, MN
Would you like to perform? Performers of all styles, including student groups from other schools, are welcome and encouraged to join us. And you don't have to be strictly a belly dancer--musicians, dancers from other disciplines, fusion dancers, and performers with experimental belly dance works are encouraged! Interested in performing? Contact Mirah at mirah@mirahammal.com by June 4 for additional information and to be added to the performers list. In your email, provide: * Your real name * Performance name or name of your act (if different) * Length of your piece (6 min. or less is fine. Between 6 and 8 min may be ok if you talk with Mirah first and time in show permits.) * Name of the piece of music (if known) * Choreography credits (if applicable) * A very short description of what you plan to do (e.g. "a veil piece," "a pop belly dance piece," "a tango featuring live chickens", etc.) * A phone number where we can reach if there are questions or issues. Due to space and program considerations, we do need to hear from you in advance. Thanks for your understanding.

Summer Session Specialty Classes! Preparing for Performance Starts Wed. June 11! A performance skills class--develop your own solo or duet piece with special tips and coaching!
Developing as a Solo Performer starts in August! For solo performers who want to develop their skills, professionalism, and learn more about the business of belly dance.
Latin Dance for Belly Dancers Starts June 12! Learn the rhythms, steps, and important feeling and characteristics of various latin dance forms necessary to create great fusion pieces from a highly qualified latin dance instructor and belly dancer!
